Artist Film Screening: Pollock

First PANDORA, NOW

5.11.14 | 19:30 |  Koresh 14

Join us this Wednesday night at 7.30pm for the first session of the newly starting PANDORA, NOW Artist Film Screenings!
We'll be kicking off with a modern classic, Pollock - immersive, challenging and disconcertingly real:

In the early 1940’s, abstract expressionist Jackson Pollock (1912-1956) is living with his brother in a tiny apartment in New York City, drinking too much, and exhibiting an occasional painting in group shows. Emerging artist Lee Krasner becomes his companion, lover, champion, wife, and, in essence, caretaker aims to get him away from booze, insecurity, and the stress of city life - but old demons persist. Painting becomes both a vessel for bliss and addiction…

PANDORA, NOW is a series of Wednesday night film screenings at Koresh aimed at exploring the minds of radical/sublime artists whose impact on society can be felt today. Each screening is framed by an introduction to the artist, and rounded off by an informally moderated discussion to encourage
interpretative exchange.

Popcorn and drink are available, entry is always free!
